AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
Our Game Changers After-School Program is held at Sports & Skate Station USA and runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for children ages 5 to 15. Each afternoon includes homework assistance, 30 minutes of required reading, and a snack and drink provided for every participant. Students also enjoy a variety of enriching activities including computer lessons, art projects, skating, and group games designed to build teamwork and confidence.
The program is offered at a rate of $75 per week.
Our holistic approach focuses on developing the whole child — Mind, Body, and Soul:
Mind: 20 computer stations for homework and learning support
Body: Skating, sports, and organized physical activities
Soul: Faith-based, character-building programs that inspire growth and purpose
For more than 35 years, SkateStation USA in Lexington, SC, was a cherished gathering place where families and friends came together for fun and community. After closing during the COVID-19 pandemic, the beloved facility has been brought back to life under new ownership as Sports & Skate Station.
The newly renovated center preserves the spirit of the original rink while expanding its offerings to include batting cages, basketball courts, and an indoor golf driving range—creating an exciting, all-in-one destination for recreation and connection.
Sports & Skate Station represents the vision of Steve Ware, Columbia resident and owner of Rivers Edge Retreat and Game Changers at Rivers Edge Retreat—a Christian-based nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and equipping youth through sports, education, and faith-driven experiences.
